Duolingo: A Gamified Languange-Learning Tools


I’ve tried some learning method for learning languages from the most traditional way like reading textbooks, or with software like rosetta stone, and web-based app Livemocha. But nothing intrigued me like Duolingo.

Duolingo is a free languange learning tools that you can access in web or in your mobile devices. The gamification in the learning process is what it makes me intrigued.

Duolingo offers 6 languages for English Speaker (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch). Each of the language course are packed in a game-like experience. Where on each session you will be given 3 hearts, and may not lose all of them or else, you will have to restart the session. But if you manage to survive one session, you will be given EXP points, and after gaining certain EXP, you will level up.
